Secretos del gt86 'El museo sobre ruedas'

Copio y pego un comentario de Youtube en inglés (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hd6EjbzR888&frags=pl%2Cwn) de un gran fan de nuestros coches, un tal Johnny Keller. Personalmente desconocía todo lo que comenta y me he quedau perplejo:


   «This car is a rolling museum of historical Toyota references most people can't/don't appreciate.
     
1. The boxer engine is a direct homage to the two-cylinder boxer engine of the Sports 800, Yota's first ever "sports car"

2. The dimensions of the side windows are identical to the Toyota 2000GT, a legitimate Japanese "hyper car" of its day, that was a multi-million dollar car in the 60's

3. The DS-4 fuel injection system is the evolution and reflection of the T-VIS found on the 4A-GE engine in the original AE86

4. The torque curve everyone whines about in the GT-86 is a result of the induction system, and mirrors the same torque dip found in the 4A-GE compliments of the T-VIS system

5. The 57:43 weight distribution is identical to that of the AE86 Corolla

    This car was a "skunk works" project...it was developed behind Toyota board's back, this car's very existence is something special.
     I don't think many people grasp how much heart was put into the GT-86, I don't own one, but want one terribly....
     It dismays me to see how Toyota listened to what people wanted, and a lot of people feel it isn't "good enough".
   I'm however one of those corny "romantic" enthusiasts who appreciates a vehicle for more than what's on the surface.
    There are cars that are harbingers of new era's of automotive advancement, and cars that become icons, and cars like the GT-86, they're symbols and recognition of what once was, and the embodiment of a longing to get back there...a flesh-and-blood flashback if you will, that to me is why they can be so special.
    It shows me that I as an enthusiast am not alone, and that companies can express the same longing I can.
    I know it sounds absolutely crazy to say that, but I hope they continue production for a good long while, and I hope people will come to appreciate this thing for what it represents...not just what it is».

Muy buenas las reflexiones.
Está claro que es un coche muy especial, para un perfil aficionados muy específico. Por eso hay tan pocos.

Grandes detalles a ver cuándo me dé, haré una recopilación de lo que se va diciendo en cuanto a curiosidades y lo dejamos todo en el mismo post. El problema que ahora las curiosidades y detalles de este gran coche están cada una en post diferentes por eso sería bueno reunirlo todo en uno para así el que quiera enterarse que se entere en el mismo post.

La verdad que lo pensé. Primero fui a meterlo en el tema de curiosidades, pero me echó para atrás lo que suele pasar de que entre tanto comentario se acumulan páginas e incluso nos salimos del tema y al final a alguien nuevo entre tanta cosa puede que lo pase por alto. Después fui a meterlo a un tema sobre 'cosas que debes saber sobre el Toyobaru' pero al ir a colgarlo el propio sistema me advirtió que era un tema que llevaba inactivo mucho tiempo y que considerase crear un tema nuevo; así que lo hice.

Me parece muy buena idea lo que propones de recopilar todo lo curioso, histórico, los detalles... en plan listado, que quede arriba del tema y que la lista se vaya ampliando conforme haya nuevas aportaciones, y tengamos libertad para ir comentando sin ningún problema! genial!
